Valentine's Day

This morning we had a Valentine's breakfast at Sam's school.  The kids sang three cute songs and then we got to enjoy a breakfast of donuts and fruit with them.  Sam made us an awesome heart shaped valentine.

She was so excited that we were at her school with her.  It was fun to see her interact with the kids she talks about every day.  Today was also another reminder of why we don't let her eat much sugar.  She was bouncing off of the walls!  She has a ton of energy naturally and added sugar puts her over the edge quickly.  I don't envy her teacher for the rest of the day.  20 some kindergartners all hopped up on sugar doesn't sound like a fun day!

Here are a few pictures and from this am.

Weekend fun

We were going to go to papa and grandma's this weekend. We had the ride all packed up and went to pick up the kids at daycare. When we got there we learned that Sam had just thrown up a few minutes earlier. At first she said she was fine and then she said she wanted to go home.

By Saturday am she was mostly fine. We were able to go sledding. It was super fun. Sam tubed all by herself and screamed with joy the whole way down the hill. Brett was less interested but still had a good time.

This am we went to church. Brett refused to go to Sunday school so he sat with Travis and I through the 1.25 hour long service. He did great. He fell asleep at the end and afterwards he talked about hearing about Jesus. Part of me hopes he never wants to go to Sunday school again. We will see.

I ran 7 miles when we got home from church. All of it on the treadmill. I love the treadmill.

Tonight we made French toast for dinner. I found a recipe online and it was great. Cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar and vanilla mixed with the eggs and milk. Yummy! Everyone liked it!

Here's to what will hopefully be a great week!

Going Dancing with Daddy

Oh Saturday, how I love thee. Pancakes for breakfast, a great spin and run workout, Jimmy Johns for lunch, cleaning the house, hanging out with the family and then sending Sam and Travis off for their very first daddy daughter dance.

Sam was so excited! All week long she counted down the days and then today she kept telling Travis they should probably start getting ready to go.

Even bath time was a joy and that rarely happens around here.

So Brett and I got to hang out, play games (Mickey's Road Rally) and cuddle a little bit.

I wanna go to Disney again right now

We went in November.  Travis and I ran the Wine and Dine half marathon in the rain with his sister and her hubby.  The kids had a great time.  We tried to do too much.  We should have spent more time kicking back by the pool.  Disney was more crowded than it has ever been when we have been there and we didn't enjoy that.  Next time I think we are skipping the races and going when they say the crowds are at their lowest.

Here are some pictures of the trip.  Peter Pan's Flight was their favorite ride.

And so now we are thinking about returning to the House of Mouse next Feb.  Let the planning begin!

Mommy, you're the best!

This morning while getting Brett dressed I gave him a kiss on his shoulder after I took his PJ top off. I have done this pretty much everyday since he was born. He looked at me and said "Thank you mommy!" Then he asked me to put his shirt in him. I did and then he asked me to give his a kiss. I did and he said "Mommy, you're the best!" I of course loved it! Thanks little big buddy! I love you!

This video is from last weekend. It's too cute!

A Short Summer

Brett turned 3 on Monday.  Wow.  3.  That doesn't seem possible.  Wasn't I just pregnant and feeling him kick me nonstop?  He's grown into such a cute little man.  He is full of "I love you, mommy's", hugs and kisses.  Don't get me wrong, he is also entering the terrible three's.  Temper tantrums have commenced for sure.  He had his three year old doctor appointment today and his doctor said he looked perfect.  He weighed in at 35 lbs which is 79th percentile, which is pretty much where he has been tracking since he turned 1.  He took a little jump in height to 38.3 inches though which moved him to 68th percentile.  I'm glad he took that jump, I had been wondering if he was going to be a short little guy.

He had a Jake and the Neverland Pirates birthday party.  Here are some pictures.

Julee and Marty brought over their blow up pool that has a slide.  All of the kiddos had a ton of fun playing outside.

Papa, Grandma, & Grammy with Sam and Brett.

He wanted a Bucky cake and I was daring enough to give it a try.  I thought it was just ok but the kids loved it so I must have done something right.  Brett didn't want to eat it, he wanted to play with it.
