4 year old tantrum

Tonight Travis went on a bike ride and I took Sam and Brett to the park. We were having a good time on the merry go round and finally Brett asked to stop. Sam agreed and so we stopped. Brett got off and Sam said she wanted to be pushed some more. I said we should take a break and then could come back later. She proceeded to stomp her foot at me. She knows she isn't supposed to do that. I said "I'm not pushing you any more tonight". She started to whine at me.

Then we were playing on the slide and she said "I don't like you!" Well that did it. I was done with her attitude for the evening and I told her so. She asked me to push her on the swing and I said "since you don't like me, I don't think I need to help you". Tears and more tears followed. I held my ground. I still feel guilty though.

Travis' 1st tri of the season

Travis and his sister Kris did the first tri of the season for our tri group. Sam, Brett and I loaded up and went to watch. We saw them both come out of the water but then it started to rain so we packed up and headed to the mall to play instead.

Brett promptly pooped his diaper about 10 minutes into play time. He has done this the last two times we have gone to the mall to play. They weren't ready to leave so I being the awesome mom that I am let him run around for at least twenty more minutes stinking up the joint. Sorry to all of the rest of you who were there and had to witness this shining moment.


After lunch Travis, Sam and Brett napped and watched tv. I put in 26 miles on the trainer and then caught a break in the rainy weather and was able to get in 24 more outside. I was barreling down the trail and had to come to a screeching halt when I saw a tree down across the trail. I jumped off, hoisted my bike and then myself over and continued on my way. It was a good ride.

Tonight was a movie night and we snuggled on the couch and watched Tangled. Well at least Sam, Travis and I did. Brett was too busy building forts, driving motorcycles and fleeing bad guys!

Cute quote of the day

Yesterday when we were getting in the car to go to the mall Brett said "Sit back here by me mommy." When I got in he said, "Thanks mommy. I like you!"

Brett is soooo stinkin cute right now.

Brett: Mommy's a donkey and daddy's a horse.

Me: What's that make you?

Brett: I'm not a mule!

Sam's first goal!

Sam has been playing soccer for a few weeks now. It is for 4&5 year old boys and girls. Her team consists of 3 rambunctious boys and 3 mild mannered and non competitive girls! She does have a crush on her coach, Coach James though. She will follow him anywhere, do whatever he asks and give him hugs even during the middle of a game.

I am not sure she is going to love soccer but if she decides she does I think she will be a great soccer player. She scored her first goal last night. I didn't get to see it because I was busy chasing Brett around but she told me all about it and she was super excited. I'm sad I missed it but glad Travis got to see it!

We spent Father's Day weekend building a sand/dirt box for the kids. They loved the one at our old house.

Tonight I ran home from work and it was hot. I was drenched when I got home. Travis grilled up some steaks and then we spent the evening in the backyard watching the kiddos have a blast in the little pool. They love that thing!

Sam's last soccer game of this session is tomorrow night. Swimming lessons start again in July!
